Its gonna SNOW!

This is Chad Hedrick who is showing my inner feelings - It's gonna SNOW!

Ok kids, here is the synopsis from me (you might check with the Barometer's predictions) - I am prone to over-optimism.:

Monday - clouds and sun. Warmest day in several weeks and it shouldn't be too breezy during the day. Some showers (rain) may fall during the daylight hours. Light snow will set up after dusk and there will be an inch or two by 6am Tuesday - this is the teaser. Intermittant light to moderate snow will fall during the morning on Tuesday, maybe a little ice will mix in late Monday and into Tuesday. Once the afternoon comes, a nice stiff east wind should pick up and the snow should start falling in earnest around dusk (the Tuesday night event will be like the February storm last year that happened this very weekend - although there will be higher accumulations). Wednesday morning, there should be 8-10 inches of glorious snow the ground with snow showers through the morning.

With this deep snowpack and an arctic high moving in, the weather is going to get really frigid on Thursday and Friday. Lows should be solidly in the single digits both nights (even in town) so the snow won't be going anywhere.

Get your hot cocoa and muffin recipes ready - should have a couple of nice wintry days here in DC.
